By virtue of the fact that you have a link with our school either as a pupil, a carer, a parent or grand-parent or you are a member of staff, makes you a friend of St Bernadette.
Our primary objective is to raise funds but we also serve a useful social function too. Fundraising events provide an opportunity for parents, staff and pupils to get together. A by-product of our primary objective is our secondary one which is to encourage closer links between home (parents, carers, pupils) and school.
We hold two meetings a term, either side of half term holidays. We have a committee which has a chair and class reps, and we host a number of events each year, for example Bags to School, Discos, The Summer Fayre, Bake Sales, to name a few, but we are always open to new ideas and initiatives to generate income.
Everyone can get involved. There are many different ways you can help with the Friends, whether you have lots of time to offer or not. Some of the roles are time-consuming, although also rewarding. If you can’t commit to a big job, look out for things you can do less frequently (eg running a stall at the summer fayre, baking for a cake sale, coming to a meeting, these are always advertised in the newsletter). And you can always support our events by simply turning up.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
